Project Overview
The Music Industry Careers Hub is a website providing information to people who want a career in the music industry and help them build a great knowledge base.
The target audience is for people like me, already in education, and looking to understand more about the different career paths available in music. It will help them understand how to build their network and identify key organisations in the UK.
It will also appeal to people wanting a career change.
The content will be focused on creative and commercial careers in the music industry. It will cover everything behind the scenes from identifying artists, developing artists, promoting artists, royalties and rights, every aspect of monetising from artists.
I came up with this idea because I am struggling to find all the information and learning that I want to know on the internet and so I’m going to build it myself.
I eventually plan to launch this as a website.

I have set up an instagram to promote the content and attract viewers.

examples of a day in their life
-
top career tips
I will also use existing websites to search for content that fits with my subject themes and use it to create more content. Most other websites are for audiences in the USA. I will need to ensure I adapt the content to make it relevant for UK viewers.
Types of Content
Interviews will shown as bite size clips. I will edit into short clips and keep them specific to certain questions and answers so keep viewers more engaged. If clips are too long people can get bored. If they are easy to watch and useful then people will share on social media and help raise the profile of the website.
Interviews will be a combination audio podcasts and videos.
I will also use some of the interview content to create written articles and infographics.
I will use existing relevant content from other websites and reversion into articles and infographics.
Other Industry Resources I will use;
Content Tools
Canva, photo shop, adobe illistraitor

Infographics

Content Calendar
I aim to feature a minimum 4 bits of content per month (produce approx 1 per week).
I aim to do 1 interview per month with an industry professional. The podcasts/video interviews can be edited into smaller and multiple pieces of content which I can release regularly through out the month.
I will hold the interviews for maximum 1 hour each. Including my preparation this would take up 1 day. I will then need at least 2 days to cut and edit the interviews into smaller bite size content.
I will constantly research content that fits with my subjects so I have a bank of content I can use to pre-produce my own content - articles, infographics
Opportunities for Collaboration
I will collaborate with ellie rhodie, she will be doing behind the scenes videos of my college interviews
